How to Password-Protect a PDF from Figma
Export selected Figma frames as a PDF and add password protection with Turbo PDF Exporter & Compressor.
Can you password-protect a PDF exported from Figma?
Figma’s built-in export does not provide a password field for a PDF. Turbo PDF Exporter & Compressor includes PDF password encryption, so you can create a PDF from selected frames and protect it in the export workflow.
A password helps limit casual access, but it does not replace secure sharing practices. Send the password to recipients through a separate channel and check your organization’s document-handling requirements.
Prepare the document
In Figma, organize the frames you intend to share and confirm their page order. Remove any content that should not be included in the deliverable. Open Turbo PDF Exporter & Compressor and select the frames for your PDF.
Set a PDF password and export
In the plugin’s export options, enable password protection and enter the password you want to use. Review the other PDF settings, then generate the file. Keep the password somewhere secure and share it separately from the PDF.
After export, open the PDF and verify that it prompts for the password and displays the intended pages once unlocked. Test the file in the PDF reader your recipients are likely to use.
What to check before sharing
Confirm the correct frames and page order, test the password prompt, and make sure recipients can open the document with their PDF software. Avoid sending the password in the same message or attachment as the protected file.
