Why Is My Figma PDF File So Large? Common Causes and Fixes
Find common reasons a Figma PDF becomes large and practical ways to reduce its size without overlooking print quality.
Why can a Figma PDF be large?
High-resolution photos, many pages, large raster effects, and print-oriented settings can all increase PDF size. A document prepared for high-quality print may be much larger than one intended only for online review.
Check images and output resolution
Use image dimensions appropriate to the final page size and avoid sending unnecessarily oversized source images. Choose a DPI setting based on the destination: a screen review does not always need the same image detail as a print job.
Optimize while preserving what matters
Compress images and review the result at normal viewing size. Check small text, gradients, and detailed photos. Keep a separate high-quality print export if you also need a lightweight file for email or web delivery.
Turbo PDF Exporter & Compressor includes PDF optimization and lets you control DPI and color mode while exporting multiple Figma frames together.
Avoid reducing quality blindly
The smallest PDF is not always the right deliverable. Confirm print and accessibility requirements, then compare the optimized file with the original. Check page dimensions, links, fonts, and image clarity before sharing.
